Contemporary Art
Written by MichaelZ on July 3, 2009 – 12:35 pm -Contemporary art gave its birth after the Second World War. It is present day’s art. The collection of contemporary art at museums reminds us of Second World War.
The exhibition of contemporary art is organised by commercial art galleries, public association, and contemporary art galleries and personally by artists themselves. Government supports contemporary artists with grants, awards and prizes. Government make arrangements for direct sales of their work.
The relation between private and public organisation of contemporary art is very close. Individual person donated fund for the upliftment of contemporary art. Contemporary art depicts the picture of present socio economic, political, cultural and academic changes. This art is flexible, not rigid. This art is related to the revolution brought in the present day world.
Contemporary artists try to bring the idea behind the work in front of the people. They never concentrate on the medium. Their work reflects present day issues and problems like globalisation, politics, human rights and bio-technology.
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum awarded prizes like Emerging Artist award to the artists. The Broere charitable foundation founded The Vincent Van Gogh Biennial Award for contemporary art in Europe.
There are many famous oil painting styles of different artists such as Abstract, American realism, folk, art deco oil painting , Renaissance, romantic paintings etc. Oil painting gallery sells variety of oil paintings and frames for homes, offices, restaurants etc. Literary collection of famous artists like Leonardo DA Vinci and Claude Monet are assembled there.
Jaipur, the pink city is the centre of attraction for contemporary arts. It is well known for miniature painting and pottery. The Samanavi Art Gallery covering an area of 2000 square feet draws many art lovers and artists from different corners of the cities to the exhibitions and workshops held over there.
So, contemporary art is the art that is connected with the creation is still continuing, starting from 1970. Contemporary art is dynamic in nature. It varies with the various changes taking place in the world.

Live Performance Today - Follow up Tomorrow
Written by MichaelZ on July 3, 2009 – 12:35 pm -Many promoters starting out have to work hard and on a shoestring to get an audience of a few hundred people to fill a venue. Flyers, word-of-mouth and social networks are some of the methods promoters can use to try and encourage people to venues or club nights. Building a loyal following from grassroots is no easy task. Given the amount of effort it can take to fill even the smallest of venues promoters really need to capitalise on all their efforts and use the event itself to maximise the opportunity to encourage further audience contact.
For a small outlay online surveys can be set up to provide the promoter with feedback and the opportunity to maintain an on going relationship with their audience. Using online Survey Software a promoter can now quickly and easily create an online survey.
With an online survey a promoter can find out exactly:-
- who attended;
- what persuaded them;
- what they thought of the event;
- would they expect to attend again;
- would they recommend future events to their friends.
One way to ensure a good response is to have a supply of business sized cards that are marked clearly with a slogan like “Feedback”, “Everyone’s a critic”, “What do you think”. Each card would have a web address pointing either directly to the survey or to a website where a link to the survey can be placed. The cards can be issued at the door with the tickets, or handed out among the audience and being the size of business cards they are small enough to be stuck in a pocket, purse or wallet. It may not even be necessary but a small incentive wouldn’t harm the response rate perhaps the chance to win a free guest pass for a future event, a signed CD or T shirt.
Using the results from online surveys the promoter is able to:
- Obtain a profile of the audience
- Gauge the overall success of the event;
- Measure the effectiveness of different promotion;
- Receive feedback on the venue and facilities;
- Receive feedback on the act;
- Promote on a one on one basis;
- Build a targeted database for future events;
- Build a loyal audience;
- Link to merchandise and other promotions.
Considering the effort that it takes to promote an event and the little extra effort required in using online surveys to encourage further contact and all the immediate and long term benefits that will bring – it really couldn’t be any easier.
The following example shows the feedback that could be used for a breaking band. It not only gathers valuable feedback, but continues to promote the band, their CD and gives the opportunity to encourage further contact.

Celebrities are better than you
Written by MichaelZ on July 2, 2009 – 5:39 am -It’s a well known fact that celebrities live better lives than we do. They’re our others. They only exist to make us feel inadequate, normal, and boring. How did it a man who reads a script in front of a camera end up with his own Boeing 707 and his own runway? Unless your head has been stuck in the sand you’ll be fully aware that we’re talking about John Travolta, who is single handedly carving out a new meaning for “success”; which is now evidently defined by how many planes you have.
Of course the stupidty doesn’t end there. Will Smith spent $20 million on his dream home, but it took him seven years to build it. He later commented that he ended up with the dream home he wanted seven years ago and that his children were now old enough to have their own homes, a luxury he obliged them with. Stupidity isn’t even the start of it.
Down here on earth you might be forgiven for longing for the more humble things in life. Like that TV bracket you need to tilt your TV the right way so you can watch neighbours in bed. Instead of wondering which Boeing model you’re going to purchase next you might be forgiven for pondering the question do I want a tilted TV bracket or one that stays flat against the wall? Once you’ve stolen enough money to buy a TV bracket the next step is getting a TV… LCD TVs are particularly popular, so if you’re planning on buying one of these, makes sure you install the approriate LCD TV Bracket. But first, Maybe fix the holes in your wall that let through the draft that chills your bones in the morning?
If you’re Donald Trump you can pay someone to do it all for you…His Florida beach front mansion was valued in 2006 at a cool $125 million before the housing meltdown. With the smaller things in life taken care of, what’s left to wonder about? If you don’t get the chance to ponder how you’re going to fix your TV to your wall what DO you wonder about? How to make more money perhaps?
Note to self. Get rich…
